A simple paper pierced card

Hi All,

My apologies for the Unity Stamp Co images on my website, as my images where linked to the Unity website (I know my own doing) and when they updated their website I lost all my images. So I now have the tedious task of reloading each and every image. (I have heaps of stamps images to load sigh* but I do love the Unity stamps they are so varied you will find one to suit your needs for sure).

I just had another friend who has had a little baby boy. Babies are so cute, I wish they could stay that way forever. So I decided to make a card using the paper piercing technique. It certainly saves on colouring the image and with so many patterned papers to choose it was so much fun or you can use some of your off cuts as they are so tiny it really is a cost effective way of making a card. I decided to use the “bouncy blue” stamp from Unity Stamp Co for this card and of course blue papers!!

Paper/Cardstock: Stampin Up! pacific point designer paper, pacific point smooth cardstock A4, Stamp Pads: Classic Stamp pad – Pacific Point & Basic Black. Unity Stamp & Store Kits so versatile

I have made a mini album as well as a few more cards that I didn’t photograph (silly me) before I gave them away!! But I just love how versatile these stamps are AND I am still using the kit to make things!! They are just amazing.

I have ordered the entire collection of these stamps, they are so quirky and initially I thought I wouldn’t like them, but I am SOLD and have even decided to take part in the online course in September that Suzi Blu runs. I can’t wait to do the course. I am really wanting to try different mediums and I think this would be the best opportunity as you don’t even have to leave home to do it… or as Suzi puts it you can be in your knickers at 3am and it wouldn’t matter!!

Here is an example using the new Suzi Blu stamp “Broke my Heart”. This adorable card was made by Maren Benedict, Unity DT member.

Vintage or Modern Your Choice!

I have been playing with the different Memento colour inks this week. I used rich cocoa and tuxedo black to see what the outcome would be.
So here I used the same colour set of Copic Sketch Markers on both the Gertie’s and the result was quite dramatic.

You can see by using the Rich Cocoa ink as the base turns Gertie very vintage and when used with Tuxedo Black as the base it has a more sharp modern look about her.

I am still new to the Copic markers so the colour is a little flat and needs more highlighting but I guess the more practice the better you become. I am loving the Copic markers the detailing and how you can blend colour together is absolutely amazing.

It’s a Celebration

So here is a card I made for Crowies Craft. I thought I’d do some kids theme cards.

I love this monkey, it’s so so cheeky it reminds me of my son. In fact he saw the card and I asked if it was for his birthday (which is in October) he thinks that all his friends is getting one.

stamps: Unity Stamp Co – Retro BBQ & OCT09 KOM Wherever you go, Stampin Up! Nursery Letters, Nusery Necessities, stars (unknown name), sweet birthday. Inkpads: SU! Classic Stamp Pads – whisper white, real red, basic grey. Cardstock/paper: real red, basic grey, whisper white, SU! design paper.

I started with a card, but I loved this monkey so much I decided to make some gift tags to go with it. So I will update this post again once I complete the thank you cards which is in the making.
